Description

First image done with the new pier and the 6" achro refractor. I chose IC410 for 2 reasons:

1. I wanted to take 10 minute exposures after best polar alignment.

2. I need a target that I can see for a long time during the night, not being blocked by trees.

And I wanted to see how far I can go with the achro as well.

One thing for sure: the OIII channel is by far the worst with the achro, and I believe it makes sense. Needed to process a LOT to get a decent blue part.

I am again impressed about the Hα quality, and this time as well the SII images, they came out very nicely.

The mount with the pier performed very well, could obtain and keep most of the 10 minute exposures, the perfect polar alignment paid off! Next step is to get the PEC done, now with a constant place it is worth doing it (I assume).

And as last: it was so much fun to work with the pier, and that is most important!
